Borrowed Time

I won't spend this page describing what that was like — this isn't a place for medical history, and that's on purpose. But an experience like that does something to how you look at time, attention, and what's actually worth saying. It leaves you with less patience for filler, and a sharper sense that the clock is not, in fact, infinite.

9 Second Flatline grew out of that shift. It's not a single-topic blog and it's not a diary. It's an eclectic collection — essays, photographs, half-formed ideas, arguments, memories, political, whatever earns its place — built around one loose thread: paying attention to the things that deserve it, in whatever time there is left to pay attention with.

It exists because Facebook and Instagram, useful as they are for keeping up with people, were never built to hold anything longer than a scroll. This is the place for what doesn't fit in that format.

Come back when something here is worth fifteen minutes instead of fifteen seconds.
